RESIDENTS in the Marsden Hall Road North area of Nelson, were left without electricity for around six hours overnight because of a blown fuse.
The fuse was in a small sub-station in Pinfold Place and fire crews were called to the scene last night after smoke began pouring out of the junction box.
Firefighter Richard Armstrong said: "We were called out about 7.20pm and there had been a short circuit.
"We opened up the box and put dry powder on it and then called the electricity board."
A spokesman for Norweb said: "We had a call from the fire brigade around 7.50pm.
"There had been a blown fuse at the sub-station which affected electricity supplies to Pinfold Place, East Croft, Marsden Hall Road North, Merclesden Avenue and Shelfield Road. Everyone had electricity again by 1.35am."
