VOLUNTEERS are needed to help raise funds to send 11-year-old cancer sufferer Emma Archer on a dream holiday to Disney World, Florida.
The brave schoolgirl, of Rimmington Avenue, Accrington, was diagnosed with a form of cancer in June this year and is currently undergoing sessions of chemotherapy at Pendlebury Children's Hospital, so locals have got together to organise this trip of a lifetime.
The Emma Archer Fund has already raised more than £2,000 and is hoping that a fun day and barbecue at the Spinning Jenny, on Saturday, will help to boost the pot.
But more helpers are needed to set up and run stalls, entertain visitors and take part in a tug o' war competition. Anyone who can spare their time and talent for the day should call Margaret Lorenti on 01254 382608.
