A 14-STRONG group of amateur cyclists from Accrington and the Ribble Valley is to set out on a gruelling 135-mile ride across the UK to raise money for charity.
Patsy Rimmer, 51, of Clitheroe, aims to raise at least £1,000 for Victim Support, by pedal power when she leaves with six of her workmates at Caligen Foam, Broad Oak Gates, Accrington.
The full group, in their 30s, 40s and 50s, are leaving from Whitehaven in Cumbria on Friday, and hope to finish at Sunderland Pier three days later, stopping in Penrith and Consett along the way.
Patsy said: "One of my colleagues who works at Caligen is a volunteer at Victim Support Accrington and it was his idea to raise cash for the organisation.
"We've already got a few hundred sponsors and the more the merrier."
