BURY'S attractive first round Worthington Cup tie with Sheffield Wednesday will go ahead at Gigg Lane despite the tragic news of the death of one the Owls' young players, Tom Staniforth.
Both teams will wear black armbands but the Owls have said they would prefer to observe a minutes' silence at their home against West Brom next Saturday.
The Shakers are looking to bounce back from their 2-1 defeat by QPR and, until such time as the much protracted take over the club is completed, a good run in the cup is essentail for financial reasons.
Indian national skipper Baichung Bhutia picked up an injury against Rangers but is expected to play in an unchanged Shakers line-up.
