POLICE in Blackpool have issued a fresh appeal for witnesses to a road collision which resulted in the death on Sunday of a pensioner from East Lancashire.
May Holden, 77, of Hall Park, Haslingden, died in the Royal Preston Hospital at about 4.20pm on August 19, following a road collision in which she and and her husband Fred, 76, suffered serious head and leg injuries.
The couple were crossing central promenade, Blackpool, at its junction with Church Street at about 10.30pm on Monday, August 13, when they were in collision with a Vauxhall Cavalier.
Mr Holden was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital but was discharged the following day. Mrs Holden was taken to Royal Preston Hospital.
A police spokesman confirmed Mrs Holden had died of injuries she received in the collision, and appealed for any witnesses to come forward.
