RESIDENTS and schools in deprived wards of Pendle will be encouraged to look after their district as part of the council's Neighbourhood Pride scheme.
A council officer will organise anti-litter projects, clean-up campaigns, waste awareness promotion and recycling schemes during the two-and-a-half-year project, which will cost around £245,000.
He will also deal with grot spot areas and fly tipping problems. The police will help with Neighbourhood Watch Groups.
