A MAN airlifted to hospital after an accident on the A59 at Gisburn was said to be in a stable condition.
Kevin Kendrick, of Ilkley, was driving a red Proton Persona towards Clitheroe when Karen Jordon, of Carnforth collided with him.
Karen, who was driving a purple Rover convertible car went to overtake two vehicles, one of them a wagon carrying animals and the other a Mercedes furniture van turning right into Rose County Foods.
Mr Kendrick was airlifted to Preston Royal Hospital after being cut free from his car by the fire service with a suspected fractured leg and Karen Jordon was taken to Blackburn Royal Infirmary to be checked over but was released yesterday.
The driver of the Mercedes van, Kenneth Spencer, of York, was not injured.
