STEPHEN Roy Salmon, 20, of Halliwell Road, Bolton, was given a conditional discharge for 12 months and ordered to pay £55 costs by Blackburn magistrates after pleading guilty to being drunk and disorderly outside Clitheroe police station.
The court heard that Salmon, who was clearly drunk, was inside the police station with his shirt torn and blood on his face.
An officer and a special constable tried to find out what was wrong but Salmon became abusive and was eventually arrested.
Almal Hussain, defending, said Salmon had been at the Station Hotel in Clitheroe celebrating a friend's birthday and the fact that he had got a job.
There was an argument over football inside the hotel and while this was originally good humoured Salmon was eventually dragged outside and given a good hiding.
"He wanted to make a complaint of assault but because he was drunk the police took no notice of him," said Mr Hussain.
