A MAN was due to appear in court this morning charged with a knife attack on a Darwen mother.
Aledwyn Jones, 43, of Richmond Terrace, Darwen, was arrested by detectives in the South of England last week.
He was quizzed by detectives at Blackburn police station and charged with making threats to kill, aggravated burglary and a breach of bail relating to an earlier incident.
He was today due for a preliminary hearing at Preston Crown Court.
The charges follow an incident in Richmond Terrace, Darwen at about 3am on Thursday, August 9 when mother Anna Jones was allegedly threatened by a man with a knife in front of her three young children.
