INSPECTORS will assess Rawtenstall's newest nursery tomorrow and hopefully it can open its doors at the start of the school term.
For proprietor Vanda Killeen it will be the realisation of a dream when she gets the go-ahead to open her own nursery Rawtenstall Kids Club in the former Greenfield Street Workingmen's Club in Rawtenstall.
Since gaining permission in February to change use of the building, Vanda, family, friends and contractors have been working hard to renovate the building into a 27-place nursery for children up to four and a breakfast club, after-school club and holiday club for children up to 11.
She held an open day to allow parents to have a look around and see what facilities the nursery has to offer.
Vanda said: "I will get the final inspection on Thursday and I am keeping my fingers crossed that it gets passed.
"Hopefully we can start at the beginning of September in line with the school term. The after school club is already full but I still have places in the breakfast club and the nursery."
Vanda said she would be employing 12 staff when the nursery is fully up and running and anyone interested in finding out more can contact her on 01706 830701.
