LANCASTER MP Hilton Dawson has agreed to lead a delegation to London in a bid to move forward plans for the Heysham M6 link.
The MP met with County Councillors last week and assured them that he was 100 per cent behind the M6 link but wanted assurances that the bid would be part of a fully integrated package.
Mr Dawson said he would lead a delegation to see the Transport Minister to lobby for funding.
County Transport Chief, Nora Ward, said: "I am delighted that Mr Dawson has re-affirmed his commitment to the much-needed link road which will help reduce the terrible problems of congestion faced by the city. I am looking forward to working with Mr Dawson to ensure that the Heysham M6 link and a complementary package of measures will be achieved."
