A MORECAMBE man is set for an adventure in the jungles of Peru in a new BBC TV series.
Krishan Kapur, 26, an investment banker currently living in London, is taking part in 'The Heat Is On.'
BBC1 viewers have already seen Krishan and 13 other volunteers taking part in a variety of challenges in the Scottish Highlands, under the supervision of SAS survival guru Lofty Wiseman.
But, from this week, Krishan and his six remaining colleagues will tackle 120 kilometres of Peruvian jungle with only a map and the clothes they stand up in.
"It's more important, especially in a work perspective, to show myself in a certain light," said Krishan of his reason for going on the course.
"It will be just fantastic for them to be able to see me within a certain situation where I'm really stretching myself and really giving it all I've got, and to show people that I can achieve almost anything."
Each participant is having his or her performance scrutinised by a 'critic' who knows them and doesn't think they are up to it.
In Krishan's case it is his former boss, Adity Coombs, who said: "I think he's a ditherer. I think he likes to weigh up the pros and cons, speak to people, discuss the issues, canvass others opinions. I don't think he's very sure of himself."
The series' executive producer, Colin Cameron, said: "The Heat Is On is about ordinary people testing themselves in ways that few of us nowadays get the opportunity to do. They're not nutters or rampant self-publicists - they could be your neighbour, your workmate, or your partner."
Krishan and his colleagues beat 35,000 volunteers for a place on the show, which hopes to follow on from the success of other reality TV series such as Big Brother and Survivor.
