PRESTON Grasshoppers pre-season game at New Brighton on Sunday was good news and bad news.
The good news was that the pack, missing four of last season's regulars, outplayed their opponents ensuring regular possession and leading to territorial advantage.
The bad news was that the backs disappointed with only an individual try from Tim Lough to show for their efforts. The Cheshire side with eight newcomers in their ranks had already notched two converted tries and quickly responded to Hoppers score with a third to claim the victory.

Newcomer Stewart Dinsdale from Calder Vale caught the eye at scrum half but late selection Lee Blankin did even better with three tries after coming on as replacement.
