AN area of land off Standroyd Road, in Colne, will be made surplus to the council's requirements and is likely to be used for residential development.
The decision as to the future of the land, which will not include 13 garages at the bottom of the site, was made at the executive meeting.
It was also decided that the estates and property services department should be authorised to apply for outline planning permission for residential development. The area involved consists of a car park, grass, a recycling centre, two sets of council-owned garages and the privately-owned former depot, which is up for sale.
