BURNLEY midfielder John Mullin is not set for a seaside rendezvous.
The 26-year-old had been linked with Blackpool but the Tangerines are dismissing the rumours.
"We have been linked to all manner of different players in recent weeks," said a Bloomfield Road spokesman. "This one is just the latest in a long line."
Mullin started his first game of the season in Tuesday night's shock 3-2 Worthington Cup defeat at the hands of Rushden & Diamonds.
Midfielder Lee Briscoe is fighting to be fit for the Bank Holiday weekend clashes with Millwall and Manchester City.
Briscoe sustained an ankle in the 3-2 home League success over Wimbledon last weekend, but could be ready for the trip to the New Den on Saturday.
Millwall go into the clash expecting to utilise a similar squad to that which notched a 2-1 Worthington Cup first round win over second division Cardioff City at the New Den on Tuesday night.
A 61st minute penalty from veteran front-runner Steve Claridge sealed success for the Lions after strike partner Richard Sadler had handed the hjome side the lead.
The Lions started their League campaign with a 4-0 home drubbing of Norwich City, but on Sunday slumped to a 4-0 defeat at Birmingham City and manager Mark McGhee felt his side had shown the effects of their Blues defeat against Cardiff
"Our game at Birmingham City was only two days before. The players are human beings it was a big drain mentally and physically," explained McGhee.
"There was still some good stuff against Cardiff, which I have to be pleased about, but because we didn't really have the energy we were unable to really capitalise on the gaps Cardiff were leaving at the back."
However, McGhee's side will be eager to prove that last weekend's League reversal was merely a hiccup when they face the Clarets.
"The players will be anxious to prove that Sunday was a blip rather than an indication of where we stand as a First Division side," added McGhee.
"They have trained well and realise where the problems were at St Andrews, so this is a good opportunity to put Sunday's match behind us.
"But it will be a difficult game for us."
There were no reported injuries in the Lions camp, but they are still without striker Paul Moody, who has missed the season's start through illness, and midfielder Christophe Kenet, who is not pencilled in for a return for another two weeks after sustaing an ankle injury.
Probable squad: Warner, Gueret, Lawrence, Neill, Ryan, Bull, Cahill, Livermore, Nethercott, Dyche, Tuttle, Bircham, Ifill, Reid, Sadlier, Claridge.
Clarets supporters are being urged by the club to ensure they have bought their tickets for the trip to the New Den from Turf Moor by this evening.
Reportedly 500 tickets have already been sold and the remaining 500 of their allocation will be on sale evening. Fans will then have to buy tickets at the New Den on matchday.
Prices are £18 for adults and £9 for concessions.
