I AM writing to ask your readers to nominate someone they think deserves a British Red Cross Humanity Award.
This year's theme is 'Everyday Heroes' and we are looking for men, women and children who have shown extraordinary courage and compassion for others.
They could be nominated for rescuing someone after an accident, or for just being there when someone has gone through a personal crisis. When your world has been turned upside down and someone puts himself or herself on the line to help you these are the people we need to hear about.
I am sure you know of someone who deserves to be given a Humanity Award and you have until August 31 to nominate that special person. So go on - tell us about them, it's a great way to say thank you.
Call free on 0800 1697173, or write to British Red Cross Humanity Awards, British Red Cross, FREEPOST, LON17431, 9 Grosvener Crescent, London SW1X 7BR.
Alternatively you can pick up a form from your local shop or branch or visit our website www.redcross.org.uk for more details.
The Humanity Awards are sponsored by AstraZeneca, one of the world's biggest leading pharmaceutical companies.
We look forward to receiving your nominations soon.
Angela Rippon, Vice president, British Red Cross
