BURNLEY'S Anthony Keenan has received the letter he impatiently waited nearly two weeks for.
It confirmed that he was on the plane to Sea Island, Georgia, for the Daily Telegraph/Center Parcs Junior Golf Championships final next month.
The 18-year-old said: "I am just so glad to get my place confirmed.
"I have been sweating on it for the last week -- my mates seemed more confident than I was."
More than 35,000 young golfers took part in qualifiers for the prestigious competition -- which has been won in the past by Justin Rose and David Coltart -- and Keenan qualified third.
His six under par score of 66 at the Blackburn Junior Open -- noted as five under because the Telegraph uses the standard scratch scores for each course --
put him right up there, but he didn't believe it at first.
"When I came in after the Blackburn Junior Open Ben (Scott) told me I would definitely qualify with that score, but I didn't even realise it was a qualifier!
"I just wanted to win the Blackburn Junior Open again.
"It's just great definitely to be going."
