Radcliffe Boro 5 - Witton Albion 0
SAME again on Saturday. . . that was the message from delighted boss Kevin Glendon after Boro's superb midweek whitewash.
Witton Albion were the unlucky side as Glendon's team went on the rampage, winning 5-0.
After Saturday's battling goaless draw at Eastwood, it was the second good result for Boro in a week.
And how they deserved Tuesday night's win. They were on top from start to finish, inspired by star man Jody Banim, signed from Rossendale United in the close season.
But Boro won't be resting on their laurels. Glendon is already looking ahead to Saturday's clash at home to Matlock Town and he wants another all-star performance.
"We were fantastic against Witton," admitted Glendon. "Everyone who was there was impressed at what they saw. We passed the ball around superbly and our movement was great.
"The fans got behind us and if we keep playing like that then I'm sure we will get more and more supporters down here.
"But I want us to play as well this weekend. I don't want it to be a case of after the Lord Mayor's show. We must be at the top of our game again and ready to give our fans another treat."
Boro were in irrestible form against a shell-shocked Witton side. The home team took the lead on three minutes through Lee Kissock before Banim doubled the advantage on 14 minutes.
Then Kissock stroked home a penalty on 44 minutes and barely 60 seconds later Banim added his second of the night.
The second half wasn't quite as exciting, Andy Walker netting the fifth and final goal after 53 minutes.
No doubt who the star man was though. Jody Banim looked a fantastic acquisition as he dazzled the crowd and sometimes his own team-mates with his skill.
The 22-year-old, according to Glendon, has a big future.
"He is one of the old fashioned dribblers," said the Boro boss. "He's fitted in really well and he had an excellent game against Witton.
"He is well known amongst the lower leagues as a very good player and hopefully he can keep it up."
Saturday's clash against Matlock kicks off at 3pm.
David Bean returns from injury. Mark Dempsey is still suspended and Simon Kelly's ankle ligament injury will take at least another fortnight to heal.
