IWAS very interested to read Susan Bleazard's mention of the reunion of the 1961 intake at Blackburn Girls' High School (Letters, August 16) as we, too, are having a reunion -- of the 1941 intake -- 60 years ago!
Sadly, we have no old school to visit. The old house at Crosshill went many years ago. The Georgian house on Preston New Road which housed our school, together with its Victorian extension, was demolished in February.
Nevertheless, we are looking forward to a 1941 reunion at Blakey's on Monday, September 3 at noon.
