BURY'S latest unemployment figures have bucked the national trend.
For while the UK jobless total has fallen to a 26-year low, the borough's claimant count for July has risen by 40, compared to the previous month, to a new figure of 1,999.
This comprises 1,507 males and 492 females. The unemployment rate remains at 2.7 per cent.
