TWO Jewish teenagers suffered minor head injuries when they were attacked in Prestwich on Saturday night (Aug 18).
A 15-year-old youth sustained a head wound when he was hit with a metal bin strap. He was taken to Booth Hall Children's Hospital for treatment. The youth, from Cheetham Hill, was kept in overnight for observations and allowed home on Sunday.
His friend, also aged 15 and from the Prestwich area, suffered bruising to his head but did not require hospital treatment.
The attack happened near to Ziggy's video shop in Bury Old Road.
Two 16-year-old youths were quickly arrested by police who are treating the matter as racially motivated.
The two suspects have been given police bail pending the completion of interviews with their victims and other enquiries.
