MEMBERS of the Executive in Pendle have been asked to decide on six activities or events which would take place during Pendle Democracy Week, between October 15 and 19.
The theme for the event, which is in is fourth year, is 'election matters'.
Pendle has taken part each year on a small scale with events such as town hall open days and poster displays in public places.
This year the Local Government Association, which promotes the week, has put forward a list of ideas, which are a question time for the public to ask questions of leading members of the council, a business breakfast with local businesses, a day in the life scheme in which young people shadow councillors, a mock referendum for young people, and the publication of a local democracy leaflet to go to each household.
