A LOVING new home is wanted for a special little puppy.
The dog, named Sandy, which was found with a plaster cast on its back leg, was picked up in Middleton at the end of June, and taken to Manchester Dogs' home.
Staff removed the old cast and found the leg was still broken and gangrenous. They had to make the choice whether to put him down or amputate -- and decided to save his life. A day after his operation, he was walking on three legs -- and the loss doesn't bother him in the least.
The home at Crofter's House, Moss Brook Road, Harpurhey, has many dogs who have been victims of the holiday rush. Anyone who can give Sandy, or any other deserted dog a home should ring 0161 205 7136.
