THE search is on for the area's top childminder.
Wigan Council's Early Years Development and Childcare Partnership is planning to reward the best in the borough at an awards ceremony in November.
It wants to hear from anyone who knows people who deserve an award for good work in early years or childcare.
Nominations can be sent in for 11 categories from best childminder to best drop-in service and outdoor play space.
The winners will receive a plaque and £250 in vouchers, the runner-up a plaque and £75 voucher.
Lisa Busby, marketing co-ordinator for the team, said: "Good childcare is vitally important for parents and it's our job to ensure the best and widest possible provision," she said.
"We think it is important to recognise and reward the best practice, not just for its own sake but also to encourage others to follow suit."
Contact Lisa for details about the awards, or for a nomination pack, by calling on 01942 206205.
