A FATHER-of-three has told of his lucky escape from a petrol bomb attack on his home.
The incendiary device was thrown through a glass panel in the front door of the house in Cherry Street, Blackburn, last night, causing slight damage.
Javid Khan, 31, was asleep downstairs when he heard a bang.
His wife, Rahana and three children, Hamida, seven, Sanah, five, and Samia, three, were sleeping upstairs.
He said: "I was asleep when the bomb was thrown. I was sleeping, but, luckily, it wasn't deep sleep. I heard a loud bang and got up to hear what it was.
"I could see flames, so I ran back to the kitchen to get water. I filled a bucket and threw it at the door. As soon as the flames had gone out, I telephoned the police."
"My children were sleeping upstairs and when the police had gone they asked me what had happened. Samia said 'Daddy what's happening?'"
Javid said that his family had been harassed in the past. "Someone has been making malicious telephone calls for the past three days, I am getting really worried about it.
"This could have been a lot worse. We could have been killed.
"The police told me they have arrested someone for it, so, hopefully, it will stop."
Detectives were due to interview three Asian women arrested in connection with the incident today.
