ACCRINGTON Stanley boss John Coleman is in no doubt that the problems currently plaguing the UniBond Premier Division side will be sorted out -- and soon.
The Reds manager was hoping his side could launch a charge for the Nationwide Conference on the back of a good start to the new campaign.
Instead two defeats -- admittedly against title favourites Gainsborough Trinity and Barrow -- have left Coleman needing to act especially as his side have conceded eight goals in those games.
"I know we have problems and they need sorting out sooner rather than later," said the Reds chief.
"We need to be defending better and we need to have more confidence in front of goal.
"But I will not rush into anything. I will not make a snap decision but things will be improved.
"I am not going to wait for people to play to their potential.
"They have got to realise where they are playing and where we want to be as a club. If they don't realise that they can go elsewhere."
Coleman is not panicking although he hasn't ruled out adding another new face to the Crown Ground staff which would mean he has added six new faces over the summer. I may get another player in. We'll see. But we are only two games into the season.
"The season we were promoted into the Premier Division we didn't win our first five matches and last season we won our first three but finished ninth.
"The start doesn't count for everything but it can go a long way to setting you on your way.
"I am not willing to wait too long. We need to win games."
Burscough could face the Reds players' backlash when they are the visitors to the Crown Ground tomorrow.
"They have won their first two but I still think we will be favourites and we prefer to be this than the underdogs," continued Coleman. "They will be full of confidence and will look on us as a scalp.
"But we will improve. I have no doubt the two teams we have played so far will be up there challenging for the title but they didn't outplay us.
"There was a dubious penalty decision given against us in both games -- and that is not sour grapes -- but we have got to try and rule the referee out of the equation.
"We have got to make sure they don't have a chance to get into our area or we have to score the goals at the other end so the referee can't influence the game."
It hasn't been a great start but the mood is not too flat at the Crown Ground.
"It's not all doom and gloom. There are some plus points, including the performances of right back Peter Cavanagh and striker Lutel James.
"They have done well and we have got a good squad here. That is the frustrating thing. Now they have got to show their ability and put things right."
