DID you know that one in ten of the under 56s is a grandparent? Today's generation of grandparents are twice as likely to act as childminders to their grandchildren than previous generations.
One in four UK grandparents are involved in looking after their grandchildren while parents go to work. The BBC is making a series of films about grandparents. These documentaries will look at relationships and family politics from a grandparents' point of view.
We would like to talk to as many people as possible in order to find the families that we can later film. We are looking for:
Grandparents who are bringing up their grandchildren.
Working parents handing over the day to day care of their children to grandparents.
Cultural/religious differences between grandparent and parent.
Grandparents who are seeking to regain access to their grandchildren.
Grandparents who are living in the same household as their grandchildren.
If you'd like to be involved or know more, call us in confidence on 0117 9747 654.
Lynn Barlow, BBC.
