lWHAT a lovely story. A packed commuter train had to stop for 20 minutes in Surrey because a badger was asleep on the line. Staff alighted, woke it up and waited until it shuffled off.
Top marks to the driver. Had he had a cruel streak, he could have pretended he didn't see it and run it over.
I'm sure more hedgehogs would survive if drivers had more heart.
I stopped the other morning in front of a petrified baby rabbit in the middle of the road. I gave it time to think and run into the bushes before driving on. Some horrible people would have taken great joy in squashing it.
