A NEW vice-chairman has been appointed to East Lancashire Health Authority.
Janaid Qureshi replaces Elizabeth Howarth of Rossendale, who has been vice-chairman for the past five years.
Mr Qureshi was appointed a non-executive director of the Health Authority in October, 1994. He is married, lives in Blackburn and is employed by Crown Paints at Darwen. He is a governor of Blackburn College, chairman of the Ethnic Minority Development Association and chairman of the Blackburn, Hyndburn and Ribble Valley Health Care Trust Ethnic Minority Advisory Forum.
Miss Howarth will continue to serve as a non-executive director on the board of the authority.
