FIVE hundred posters are being distributed across Burnley, asking for views about the recent racial disturbances in the town.
It is the latest move by the Task Force set up to look at the cause of the troubles and to seek a way ahead.
The posters are written in three ethnic languages as well as English and tell people how to get in touch with the Task Force and its independent chairman, Lord Tony Clarke.
They also have details of future meetings which will start with an hour-long open session.
At these open sessions the public will be able to talk directly to the 16-strong Task Force direct, a move which is thought will encourage a positive reaction.
Lord Clarke commented: "I am delighted with the response so far from the people of Burnley but want to ensure that we reach as many people as possible as we gather the facts about what has happened and why."
He explained: "These posters will go into the offices and premises of as many organisations as we can access, including doctors' surgeries, churches and community centres."
Lord Clark had a message for the people of Burnley, which was: "This is your town. By passing on your comments, you can help us build for the future."
The next meeting of the Task Force will be on Thursday, September 6, at the South West Burnley community centre on Valley Street.
The task force website is available on www.burnleytaskforce.org.uk and the phone number is 01282 477112.
