A 77-YEAR-OLD woman had her bag stolen from her as she sat in a car outside Parkfield Post Office on Thursday.
The woman was sitting in the passenger side of a blue Ford Fiesta, in Railway Street, Nelson, at 12.55pm when a man approached her door.
He opened the door, distracted the driver by asking him the time and took the woman's handbag from the passenger foot well.
The handbag, which was made of dark green velvet and had a strap and zip, contained £85 in cash, a bus pass and stamps.
The thief was described as Asian, 5ft 6ins, around 19 years old, wearing a blue fleece jacket and blue wooly hat.
