A DRUNKEN man attacked his girlfriend and later turned on her male friend with a screwdriver, leaving his face scratched and injured.
Burnley Crown Court heard how Christian Anthony Camilleri, 27, punched, kicked his partner and stamped on her back - and then asked her to go to the shop for some cigartettes for him.
The defendant, who gave his address as "care of" Calder Close, Nelson, had earlier admitted common assault and assaulting Mr Mohammed Younis, causing actual bodily harm.
His case was adjourned until September 24 for a trial over the facts of the assault on Mr Younis.
Camilleri was remanded in custody by Judge David Pirie who said he had inflicted some harm on the victim.
John Wishart, prosecuting, said the defendant, who had been quite drunk, started to get aggressive with his girlfriend Catherine Thomas and suggested she had a bath as he wanted to go out.
