POLICE are appealing for witnesses to an incident in Nelson in which an Asian man indecently exposed himself to a 39-year-old woman.
The woman was walking her dog through Walverden Park, near Brunswick Street, between noon and 12.20pm on Thursday when she was approached by the man.
Police said the man then unzipped his trousers and indecently exposed himself before asking the woman to perform a sex act on him.
DC Ray Entwistle said: "He asked her the same thing four more times and the aggrieved told him if he carried on she would batter him. He seemed to get the message as he then left the park at the Brunswick Street exit near Hawarden Street.
"It is a worrying incident, so we would ask anyone with any idea of the identity of this man to contact us on 01282 472643."
He was described as Asian with well-spoken English, with dark collar length hair which was straight but wavy at the front, wearing a khaki or beige shirt with long sleeves and dark trousers.
