THE RSPCA has launched an investigation after a swan was found slumped on a canal bank with a pellet lodged in its wing.
The swan was discovered by passers-by at the Rishton section of the Leeds and Liverpool canal on Thursday afternoon.
RSPCA officers were called in and captured the swan. They took it to Abbeydale Vets, Blackburn, who discovered the pellet in its wing.
The swan is now being looked after by RSPCA officers in Blackpool. The RSPCA want anyone with information to come forward because they have no evidence about the incident. The number is 08705 555999.
