ASIAN food has proved so popular with locals it has prompted community centre workers to launch their own cookery classes.
Starting next month, people at the Accrington Road community centre will be cooking up a storm when they pick up tips on how to make the perfect Asian dish and swap recipes with other cooking enthusiasts.
The idea for the event came from workers at the centre who noticed an increasing popularity of the food.
Pauline Taylor, who will be helping run the weekly session, said: "People coming into the centre when we had food on offer always seemed to prefer the Asian food.
"We have a member of staff who is good at cooking so we decided to set up this course.
"It will be a good chance for people to learn new things and swap recipes."
The class will run every Tuesday between 7pm and 9pm starting from September 4 and cost £1 per session. Due to the kitchen environment, no children are allowed.
