COUNCILLORS have been recommended to refuse plans for a conservatory in Haslingden on the grounds it would go against local plans.
The proposals for a 3.5-metre wide and 2.6-metre high conservatory at number 7 East Bank Avenue will be considered by members of the Engineering and Planning Sub-Committee tomorrow.
Planners believe the structure which would front on to Colldale Terrace would lessen the gap between the bungalow and the houses in Colldale Terrace.
A report to the committee stated that if it was given the go-ahead, the conservatory with its poor design would harm the visual amenity of the locality and would against the Rossendale District Local Plan.
It also said that to allow this conservatory would set a dangerous precedent along Colldale Terrace for others.
