NELSON striker Jonathan Irvine scored the winner two minutes from time to make it two wins out of three for the NWCL Division Two promotion hopefuls.
But Manchester Premier League champions Stand will be furious they lost after failing to take their chances -- Mickey Bartholomew and Chris Denham the main culprits -- at Ewood Bridge. It was their first loss of the season.
Lee Anderson also went close for Stand while Nelson's Andy Bannister forced keeper Tommy Allen into action.
Nick Davis's men suffered the sucker punch when a poor clearance was met by Scott Gizon who set up sub Irvine who slotted past the advancing Allen on 88 minutes.
Nelson travel to Castleton Gabriels tomorrow night while Stand are at home to Chadderton.
