A WOMAN had to be cut free from the wreckage of a crashed car after a Bank Holiday Monday road accident.
The victim was a front seat passenger in a Peugeot which was involved in the accident outside the Gatehouse pub, on Manchester Road, Tyldesley, at 3.15pm yesterday.
The woman was lucky to escape with minor injuries and was taken to the Royal Bolton Hospital.
The driver of the car also suffered whiplash injuries and was taken to hospital by the paramedics.
The motorist of the other vehicle was unhurt.
Firefighters who arrived at the scene used specialist cutting equipment to slice open the roof of the vehicle and free the woman. Manchester Road was closed for a short time while the woman was freed from the car. Police are not appealing for witnesses to the accident.
