CYCLISTS from Accrington and the Ribble Valley braved wet weather on a gruelling 135-mile charity ride from coast to coast.
Luckily for the 14 riders, the weather improved over the weekend which should help them achieve their goal of raising £1,000 for Victim Support.
Six of of the riders work at Caligen Foam, Accrington, and on Friday they apprehensively drove to Whitehaven in Cumbria to join the rest of the crew, hoping to finish at Sunderland Pier yesterday afternoon and stopping in Penrith and Consett along the way.
Peter McDonald, who works at the factory said: "Apart from the first night, the riders were very lucky with the weather.
"I haven't heard of any mishaps, thank goodness."
