PAUL Beech led the Jennings Ribblesdale League to victory in the Inter League Knockout Competition yesterday.
The big-hitting Barnoldswick batsman was named man of the match as the Ribb League beat the Bolton League at Edenfield. He scored 51 and the team was in sight of victory when he was caught going for another big hit.
The Bolton League team were starved of runs early in their innings as Whalley's David O'Neill bowled 10 overs for just 15 runs and Read's impressive youngster Oliver Newby was also on form.
The last two batsmen put on 52 runs to give the Bolton League a respectable total of 173.
Chris Walton and Ian Scothern gave the Ribblesdale side a solid start as they reached 49 before the first wicket fell.
