A FAMILY fun day at the Spinning Jenny, Accrington, raised funds for a brave schoolgirl suffering from an unusual form of cancer.
Emma Archer, 11, of Rimmington Avenue, was diagnosed with embryonal carcinoma in June and is undergoing chemotherapy at the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital, Pendlebury.
Caring locals from the Fern Gore estate got together to set up The Emma Archer Fund in order to send Emma, her mum, brother Alan, 16, and sisters Laura,13, and Paige, six, on a trip of a lifetime to Disney World Florida as soon as Emma is well enough.
The fun day, sponsored silences, headshaves, abseils and raffles have raised more than £2,000.
