WHEN a brave fundraiser undertook what most men shudder to think about -- but by having all the hairs plucked from his legs he managed to notch up £160 to go towards his girlfriend's trip of a lifetime.
Damian Cunliffe, 19, of Aysgarth Drive, Accrington had his legs waxed at the Borough Arms, Blackburn to help raise money to send his girlfriend, Sarah Vaughan to teach in Malaysia.
Sarah has raised £600 from various activities in pubs around East Lancashire, but still has another £1,400 to raise until she can go to Kuala Lumpur in January.
Sarah, 18, of Hollins Close, Accrington, said: "We were really pleased with how the event went at the Borough Arms and we would like to thank all the pubs that have helped me so far and ask them to keep supporting me.
"We had a really good night where everybody enjoyed themselves."
Sarah decided on the move after completing her A-Levels at Westholme School, Blackburn, in June.
She is looking forward to helping teach children English at the other side of the world during her year-long trip.
Sarah and Damian have a set of other fundraising events up their sleeves which they have yet to finalise to help reach the grand total.
