ROVERS' pursuit of Liverpool defender Djimi Traore took a new twist today after the player's agent admitted he may be interested in a move to Ewood.

Manager Graeme Souness is set to contact his old-club this week with a fourth bid for the highly-rated Frenchman.

And Monaco-based agent Willy McKay has hinted he could be ready to talk -- if Reds boss Gerard Houllier decides to accept Rovers' latest overtures.

"Djimi wants to play so I think he may be interested if Blackburn were to come back in," said McKay.

So far, Anfield chief Houllier has rejected three separate offers from Rovers for the 21-year-old centre back.

However, with the Champions League deadline looming large on the horizon, he may now decide to cash in in order to fund the purchase of Polish international keeper Jerzey Dudek from Feyenoord.

And, tellingly, Tarore did not even make the bench last night for Liverpool's 2-1 defeat at Bolton.

To date, Rovers have offered £3 million for the player's services, with some of that fee based on appearances.

But now they are ready to come back with a new, improved offer and sources on Merseyside have suggested a bid closer to £4 million will get the green light.
