THE Healing of the Nations, the largest and most important cathedral sculpture in the country, is now on display in its full glory at Blackburn Cathedral.
The £100,000 sculpture, a colossal eight metres in diameter and weighing seven tons, is fitted with awe-inspiring fibre optics which emit a spectrum of light through the design's outer shell, bringing it to life in a kaleidoscope of colour.
Designed by acclaimed international artist Mark Jalland as a reflection of a Bible passage from Revelations, the sculpture will be switched on every evening.
