ACCRINGTON Stanley went nap at Rossett Park and could have had more in what was an excellent advertisement for attacking football.
Lutel James had a shot saved at the near post, Gary Williams headed over the bar, Simon Carden shot over the bar, Jonathan Smith headed over from a corner and that was all in the first six minutes.
But it was Marine who went ahead on 18 minutes a Kevin Formby corner was curled into captain Jon Gautrey and he headed home unchallenged.
Stanley levelled the scores on 20 minutes when Carden found the unmarked Gary Williams with a pinpoint pass the Stanley man tapping the ball home at the far post.
The Reds extended their lead deep into first half injury time, Paul Mullin found himself unmarked in the Marine area and coolly drilled the ball into the right hand corner of the net from 12 yards to send Stanley ahead.
Stanley went further ahead on 47 minutes when Mullin squared to Lutel James who drew goalkeeper Clarke and expertly slotted it past him into the net to make it 3-1 to the Reds. Gary Williams then had a goalbound shot deflected over by left back Chris Fitzsimmons before Speare dived to save from Formby at the other end.
On 54 minutes Russell Payne ran 30 yards and fired the ball into the near post for the quicksilver James to shoot home Stanley's fourth of the game. One minute later Rick Bainbridge scored from 14 yards after Speare charged out of goal and was left stranded when he overran the ball on the right leaving his goal unguarded.
With the game into the injury time at the end of 90 minutes, James again broke clear of the main defence rounding goalkeeper Clarke and hammering the ball into an empty net to score his third and Stanley's fifth -- and take his tally for the last two games to five goals.
RESULT: MARINE FC... 2 ACCRINGTON STANLEY... 5
