A LOWTON school was damaged in an arson attack last night.
A storeroom at Lowton County High School, Newton Road, was set on fire after burning paper was pushed through an air vent at 10.30 pm.
Camping equipment was damaged and a liquid petroleum gas cylinder--used in camping stoves--exploded.
A Leigh fire service spokesman said: "About 10 per cent of the camping equipment was damaged.
"There is evidence someone was drinking outside the store room."
Detectives are investigating the incident.
