RESIDENTS of Burnley Wood will get their their say about the future of the area and also to enjoy themselves this weekend.
The Local Planning in Action and fun event on Sunday has been organised by Groundwork East Lancs and Burnley's Community Alliance group.
The purpose of the event is to give the local community the chance to have their say on current and future improvements of their area.
Representatives from the council and other local agencies will be there to answer questions and gather views.
Ward councillor Donald Hall, said: "The council and community groups are working together and want to listen to local people to help make sure the planned regeneration work really meets their needs."
The event will run at Burnley Wood One-Stop-Shop from 11am until 4pm.
A marquee will be set up on the recreation ground opposite, where there will be a programme of family entertainment including a samba band, Brunshaw Twirlers, live music and DJ, magic show and free Indian head massage.
There will be free refreshments and a chance to be included in a Burnley Wood video documentary.
Ann Brade-Smith, secretary of Burnley Wood Community Group, commented: "It will be a great day with entertainment for all ages.
"Everything is free plus you get to find out what's happening in the area and have your say in the future."
