WEIR Baptist Chapel's annual open air service will be held on Sunday, September 9 at 4pm, on the site of the former Ebenezer Doal's Chapel in Burnley Road.
The Weir Hotel is now the temporary venue for Weir Baptist Church while the congregation waits for the new church to be built on the land off Bacup Road.
Minister the Rev Neil Hepworth said: "We will be supported at the service by members of other local churches."
When the new church is built is not going to be just a 'church for Sundays' but will also be used as a community centre for the village.
Funding is still not available for the new church, but detailed plans are expected to be submitted to Rossendale Council next month.
