BACUP won a bruising encounter at Cheadle Town as they prepare for their FA Cup Preliminary Round game at Guisborough Town on Saturday.
Brent Peters' side went ahead through Jason Lanns after 18 minutes and they made it two four minutes later through Nicky Taylor.
Cheadle pulled a goal back on the half-hour and the teams went in at half time with the score at 2-1.
Stuart Farnell put Bacup further ahead just three minutes after the break and Vinny Pattison scored his first goal for the club since his move from Rossendale United 20 minutes from time.
Cheadle pulled a goal back five minutes later.
"The players showed a lot of character because Cheadle were a tough physical side," said Peters.
