A TOWN councillor has offered to meet a Calderdale Council inspector and show him where there is a need for at least one litter bin.
Councillor Simon Ormerod made the offer after first pleading for more adequate cover in bins at Ferney Lee Road, which houses one of the largest junior schools in the Todmorden area.
The response from assistant chief leisure services officer Brendan Mowforth stated: "My inspector has visited the area, and found no evidence of a need for litter bins."
But he went on: "However, it is, of course, holiday time, so the area will be monitored and needs established. Once this is done we will be able to assess if a bin is necessary, and also the best location for it."
Mr Mowforth added that because of costs it was not possible to provide bins without evidence of a need or use.
